Cruise to Lakshadweep Islands begins here...

It was a warm Monday morning!! My friend Anshu and I were very excited as this was the day we would go on our first multi-day cruise.

A train journey had brought us to Cochin the previous evening and the night was spent exploring M.G. Road and the various traditional Kerala restaurants that were present in the near ‘bouts.

Early morning saw us take a bus to the Lakshadweep Tourism office in Willingdon Island to collect our boarding passes. After a long mind-numbing wait, the officials finally arrived to hand over our boarding passes and baggage tags.

Next, we were taken through a security check, that hardly seemed like one. Then, we boarded the Lakshadweep Tourism bus that took us into the Cochin Port and where our cruise liner was waiting for us.

At first sight, all of us were at loss for words. I have seen larger vessels during the days I had spent at the Chennai port, but this liner oozed beauty from the outset. It was only later did I get to know that we were the first set of tourists on boarding this new addition to Lakshadweep government’s fleet.
