I had a similar session of déjà vu when 10 year itch, a travel blog focusing on India interviewed me about traveling in India. The questions where mainly about me, my blog, my thoughts of traveling in India and my advise for those who want to go out and explore India.

The full interview can be seen here. Hope it lends some insight about my travel life and my thoughts of traveling in India.

Mentioned in Deccan Chronicle

Now, I get mentioned in newspapers too! The newspaper Deccan Chronicle (DC) mentions me in their lifestyle article along with other travel bloggers. Anusha Vincent of DC talks about ‘Blogspotting for a travelogue’ in her article on wanderlust in the lifestyle section of her newspaper. In this article, she talks about the current breed of travel bloggers from Bangalore, what makes them blog and what all do they talk about on their blog.

Here is an excerpt of the mention: “while for Sankara Subramanian (www.beontheroad.com), back-packing is a means to meet new people, explore wildlife, and take off on his beloved motorcycle”.
This article  was published on Aug 15, 2012, but I came to know about it only today when I looked at the data of sites linking back into me.

Even though this news is delayed, it definitely makes me very happy. Thank you DC, Anusha Vincent, fellow travel bloggers, my fans and all my blog readers for making this happen. Cheers!!

Enterprising Travellers!

I had recently gone on a trip to the Himalayan Kingdom of Sikkim in India. This short, but sweet trip was an invite by Club Mahindra. It was during this trip that I got to meet eight other fellow bloggers, most of them travel bloggers, some travel writers, most of them photographers, some birders, some social media experts and one pastry chef. I knew a couple of them before and most others through their online presence. But, this was the trip, where I put a face to a name along with some great experiences and happy memories.

I found their company to be great fun, enterprising and very interesting. I hardly realized how time flew when I was around them. These enterprising travellers are Lakshmi Sharath, Arun Bhat, Arun Nair, Vamsee Modugula, Nisha Jha, Kishi Arora, Shuchi Kapoor and Sneha Divakar. I seriously recommend that you check each one of them out.
