Auto rickshaw – Driving in Style

During my travels and stay at various parts of India, I have seen the ubiquitous auto rickshaw being driven in various fashions. The most common such image from my childhood days was the auto rickshaw driver sitting on the extreme right of his driving seat and 3 passengers sharing the driver’s seat with him.

Recently, I was at Patna in Bihar and I got to see such a image yet again, but this time around, the auto rickshaw driver didn’t look cramped. Instead, he seemed to be sitting comfortably or should I say in style. I can’t even think of being comfortable driving in such a position, but I guess it’s a matter of habit.
